Jeff Haspel, MD, PhD has been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation and will be inducted into the class of 2024 in April in Chicago. Membership is by nomination and member voting and represents physicians who have “accomplished meritorious original, creative, and independent investigations in the clinical or allied sciences of medicine.” Dr. Haspel’s ongoing research efforts are in the area of circadian rhythms and their impact on sepsis and critical illness.
The ASCI states that “Election is a milestone in the physician-scientist career path, and the ASCI holds its members to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, mutual respect, and collegiality.” Founded in 1908, the ASCI is one of the nation’s oldest medical honor societies and seeks to support the scientific efforts, educational needs, and clinical aspirations of physician-scientists to improve the health of all people.
