Clinical and Research Interests
My clinical and research interests are focused on bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) disease. Currently, I am working with the laboratory Dr. Shabaana Khader to understand the pathophysiology of NTM infections. Along with Dr. Thomas Bailey and Dr. Carlos Mejia, I direct the multidisciplinary pulmonary NTM clinic. We participate in clinical trials and basic scientific studies for patients with bronchiectasis and NTM disease.
I also work for the US Public Health Service on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Shiprock, New Mexico. I have established a longitudinal pulmonary-critical care outreach program at Washington University with the Indian Health Service (IHS) in Shiprock. As part of the Global Health faculty at Washington University, I am developing an elective rotation with the IHS for internal medicine residents and pulmonary-critical care fellows.
