Research Interests

Dr. Reynolds is a clinician-educator with interests in the management of critically ill patients, respiratory infections, and sarcoidosis. Dr. Reynolds is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He works as an attending in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Additionally, he staffs the inpatient Pulmonary Consult service while also maintaining a general pulmonary and sarcoidosis clinic at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Reynolds is passionate about medical education, having served as a chief resident and chief fellow, and enjoys working with fellows, residents, and medical students.

During fellowship, Dr. Reynolds did research under Philip Mudd, MD, PhD and Ali Ellebedy, PhD where he investigated the immunological response and cytokine expression in severe viral respiratory infections such as influenza and SARS-CoV-2 in bronchoalveolar fluid of infected patients, which resulted in several publications. Future research plans include participating in clinical trials in the intensive care unit, focusing on outcomes in critically ill patients.
